WEST VILLAGE, Manhattan — What would you do if you could live practically rent free for six months?

Rupert Hunt, the founder of, recently moved to New York City and is looking for two roommates to share his three-floor West Village loft apartment.

The rent would be $1 a month. Yes, you read that right.

The reason for the $1 rent?

“Living with the right people is better than being on your own," Hunt told PIX11 News.

“I am kind of excited by the thought that one or both roommates would be able to pursue their dreams with this opportunity of not having rent to pay for six months."

Hunt will take applications until Sunday. What is he looking for in roommates?

“I tend to get along with people who have some passion, but at the same time don’t take life too seriously," Hunt said.
