1 dead, 1 injured after Bronx shooting: police

MT. EDEN, The Bronx — A man is dead and another injured after a shooting incident in the Mt. Eden section of the Bronx Saturday night.

Around 11 p.m., police responded to a call about a person shot at the corner of Walton Avenue and Rockwood Street.

When police arrived, they found Joseph Jimenez, 19, unconscious and unresponsive with gunshot wounds in his head.

EMS workers took Jimenez to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police then found a second victim, a 21-year-old man, who walked into Bronx Lebanon Hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg.

He remains at the hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating the cause behind the shooting.
