DAYTON, Ohio — A mom in Ohio was shocked when her daughter found marijuana in french fries the family purchased from Wendy’s, according to a Facebook post.
Dezeray Risner posted photos of the fries on her Facebook page on Oct. 11 and explained that her 4-year-old daughter noticed something was wrong after she began to eat the fries.
“She starts yelling that her food is nasty,” the post reads. “So I reach my arm back and tell her to spit it in my hand. She did and I look at it, there is MARIJUANA in her French fries!! Not only marijuana, but a cigarillo wrap too!! MY FOUR YEAR OLD WAS CHEWING ON SOMEONES BLUNT!”
“You can see and smell plain as day that this is in fact weed in my babies food!”
Risner said she then called the manager of the Wendy’s who allegedly laughed and said she would pass the complaint to the general manager after Risner brought the fries back to the restaurant as evidence.
Risner took her complaint to local police.
Police then paid a visit to the Wendy’s location and reportedly did not find marijuana, but two employees who consented to a search told officers they smoked.
An officer also opened the bag the fries were in and saw “green leafy vegetation” mixed in with the fries and could smell marijuana, according to WHIO.
WHIO reported that Wendy’s released a statement about the incident the day after Risner posted the photos:
“Please know all of our customers as well as the quality and integrity of our food are a top priority at Wendy’s and we are taking this very seriously. We are currently conducting a thorough internal investigation and the Human Resource and Legal departments are both fully cooperating with police in their investigation. We will get to the bottom of this issue as soon as possible. It is as important to us as it is to the community.”
Risner told PIX11 News she believes the marijuana came from a joint somebody rolled near where the fries were being prepared.
“It was someone’s personal blunt, likely stuffed near or on their persons and dropped into my daughters food,” Risner said. “The fries were not ‘laced,’ sprinkled with weed, or deep-fried with weed (that one alone sounds ridiculous).”AlertMe
