EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan — A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed Tuesday by an MTA bus as she crossed a street in the East Village, authorities said.

It happened about 9:50 a.m. at Columbia and East Houston streets, a fire department spokesperson said.

Anna Colon, of Brooklyn, was crossing the street from north to south on Columbia Street when she was hit by an MTA bus as it made a left turn from Columbia Street to East Houston, NYPD said.

When police arrived, they found Colon lying on the street “with severe body trauma,” NYPD said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and no summonses have been issued at this time, according to the NYPD.
