Woman fatally stabbed by roommate inside Ridgewood apartment, police say

RIDGEWOOD, Queens – An argument turned deadly after a man allegedly stabbed his roommate inside their Ridgewood apartment, police said Thursday.

The NYPD said officers responded to an assault in progress at Stanhope Street minutes minutes before Thursday midnight. When they arrived, officers found a 26-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds about the body, according to the NYPD.

She was then taken to local hospital, where she died.

Authorities found her 26-year-old roommate with an apparent self-inflicted wound to the leg, the NYPD said. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition and is under police custody.

Police do not know the details of the argument that led to the fatal stabbing.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
