Harlem boy, 6, dies after being found with bruises, head injury: NYPD

HARLEM, Manhattan  – An investigation is underway into the death of a 6-year-old boy who was found with multiple bruises on his body and an injury to his head Monday afternoon, police said.

The NYPD said officers responded to a call of an unconscious boy at 606 W. 135th St. at 2:23 p.m. When police arrived, they were informed the child was taken to a local hospital by his mother, according to the NYPD.

The boy, who was identified as Zymere Perkins, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said the boy had bruises throughout his body and a contusion to his head.

No arrests have been made.
