Man touches J train third rail, dies; service experiencing residual delays

JAMAICA, Queens — A man was killed at the 75th Street – Elderts Lane stop on the J train Monday morning, officials said.

The man died after touching the third rail on the northbound tracks around 9:55 a.m., transit officials said. No identifying information is available for the man.

Service resumed around 11:10 a.m., but customers are advised to expect residual delays.
