Police arrest man who allegedly raped 17-year-old in Queens Park

JAMAICA, Queens — Police arrested an 18-year-old man who allegedly raped a teenager in a Queens park early Wednesday, officials said.

Roger Rivera,  an 18-year-old Queens resident, was arrested and charged with rape, police said.

Rivera and two other men allegedly met up with a 17-year-old girl and one of her friends at Detective Keith Williams Park in Jamaica around 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

One of the men pulled out a gun, police said. He told the victim’s friend to leave. After she left, Rivera allegedly raped the 17-year-old girl.

Rivera was arrested within hours of the alleged rape, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
