SEE IT: Police save suicidal man from jumping off Bronx bridge

THE BRONX, N.Y. — Police were able to stop a man from  jumping off of a Bronx bridge in a dramatic rescue that was caught on camera.

Police were called to Macombs Dam Bridge Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m., when a man was attempting to jump.

The NYPD's Special Operations Unit deployed an airbag on the roadway as the man began to climb to the top of the bridge.

After two hours, Sgt. Matthew Zucker, Det. Claudio Sanchez, Det. Vincent Caputo, PO Daniel MacSweeney, PO Kirk Baker and PO Aramis Ramos from ESU Truck 2 managed to secure the man and lower him to safety.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition for evaluation.
