JAMAICA, Queens — Port Authority Police arrested a man they say brought a loaded gun into John F. Kennedy International Airport Tuesday morning.

According to the TSA, an X-ray machine at one of the airport checkpoints detected the gun in the man’s carry-on bag.

Port Authority police arrested Matthew Crouse, 42, and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon.

Security officials found a 9mm handgun loaded with 15 bullets in the bag.

Passengers with proper permits are allowed to travel with firearms in checked baggage if the guns are packed and declared. Firearms must also be unloaded.
