ASTORIA, Queens — Police are asking for the public's help Saturday to identify a man in connection with an assault that occurred on a Q66 bus in July.

The victim was sitting on the bus while it was idling at the corner of 21st Street and 35th Avenue around noon Friday, July 8.

Police said an unknown man approached him and punched him in the face, causing a cut.

The victim then ran off of the bus and went to a local hospital for treatment.

His alleged assailant was last seen exiting the rear door of the bus, police said.

He is described as 5-feet 8-inches tall and approximately 30 years old. He has short dark hair, a mustache and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a dark gray T-shirt and dark colored pants.

He can be seen in surveillance photo and video obtained by police and released to the public.
