Texas woman dies from injuries suffered in Central Park cycling crash

UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan — A Texas woman who lost control of her bike and fell in Central Park last month died from her injuries Wednesday, officials said.

Gloria Garcia, a 54-year-old from Corpus Christi, was biking on West Drive near West 80th Street on July 17 around 2:10 p.m. when she lost control of her bike and fell, police said. She suffered trauma to her head.

Emergency responders rushed her to New York Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition, police said. She died from her injuries Wednesday.
