MIDTOWN, Manhattan — A worker was seriously injured when he fell from scaffolding on the 16th floor of a midtown Manhattan building Tuesday morning, according to FDNY.

More scaffolding below him, as well as safety mesh covering the scaffolding, helped to break his fall.

Witnesses said the injured person was a construction worker, who fell from the 16th floor. Fire officials on scene confirmed that information.

His fall was broken when he struck and went through scaffolding one floor below him, witness Jose Nuñez said.
