More than 2,000 Con Edison customers are without power Saturday, Aug. 13. (Con Edison)

YONKERS, N.Y. — More than 500 Westchester County residents are without power Sunday morning after an outage left thousands in the dark.

According to the Con Edison’s outage map, 200 people are without power as of 4 p.m. with majority of them in Rye City and Yonkers.

Power is expected to be restored by 2 p.m., Con Edison’s outage map stated.

Saturday night, over 6,000 customers were in the dark as the hot and humid weather continued to linger in the area. Temperatures are expected to reach between 105 and 110 degrees Sunday.

The National Weather Service’s excessive heat warning remains in effect until 10 p.m. Sunday.

Customers are encouraged to submit their electronic service problems on their website.

It’s still  unclear what caused the power to go out.
