Michael Phelps ends Olympic career with 23rd gold medal

RIO DE JANEIRO — Michael Phelps will take home a gold medal from his final Olympic race.

Phelps sealed his 23rd gold medal Saturday night with his teammates in the 4x100mm-medley relay.

The swimmer announced on his Facebook Saturday that he would be retiring after the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in history, retires with 28 medals overall.
