Police search for man who allegedly hit someone in the head with a tire iron in Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn -- Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly bashed a 33-year-old man in the head with a tire iron, officials announced Friday.

The man and the victim were arguing just before 8 p.m. on Bedford Avenue near North 7th Street on Aug. 4, police said. The suspect grabbed a tire iron from a nearby car and hit the victim in the head with it before running off.

Paramedics took the victim to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for a skull fracture.

Police have described the suspect as being 5'9" and in his late twenties. He has a long black pony tail and was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and black and white patterned pants. Officials have asked for help in identifying the suspect.
