5 people struck by lightning in Poughkeepsie; 3 with life-threatening injuries

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Five people were struck by lightning in at a park in Poughkeepsie Friday evening, officials say.

It happened at Mansion Square Park around 4 p.m.

Three people have life threatening injuries and were taken to Vassar Brothers Hospital.

Two others were transported to Mid Hudson Regional Hospital with less serious injuries.
