A sanitation worker was robbed at gunpoint in Brooklyn early Thursday, officials said.

BOROUGH PARK, Brooklyn — Two men robbed a sanitation worker out collecting recyclables early Thursday, officials said.

Vincent Barbato, 32, was picking up cans and bottles in Borough Park at the intersection of 9th Avenue and 41st Street when two men came up to him around 3:20 a.m., sanitation officials said.

One of the suspects held a gun to Barbato’s stomach, officials said. The other demanded his wallet.

Barbato handed over his wallet, officials said. One of the suspects took $10 from inside and then tossed Barbato’s wallet to the ground, sanitation badge and identification still inside.

The two assailants ran away, officials said. Police from the 66th Precinct are investigating.
