Person in serious condition after jumping from burning Bronx house; 9 others injured

BEDFORD PARK, Bronx – One person is in serious condition after jumping from a window during an overnight house fire in the Bronx, authorities said Thursday.

The fire broke out inside the two-story home on 202nd Street at about 2 a.m. and was put out about an hour later, according to the FDNY.

A fire department spokesperson said the jumper has been hospitalized with minor burns. Six people experienced minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Three firefighters were also taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition, FDNY said.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
