BROOKLYN — An overturned tractor trailer covered the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway with beer cans Monday morning and caused a traffic nightmare for some as all eastbound lanes remained closed for several hours.
The tractor-trailer flipped around 5 a.m. at Hamilton Avenue, where traffic was being diverted, and snarled the morning commute for hours.
It was removed from the roadway by 7:30 a.m., but all lanes remained closed until one was reopened around 9 a.m.
The trailer was transporting beer, and Air11 captured cans and cases strewn across the roadway after the crash.
What caused the tractor-trailer to flip was under investigation.
