NEW YORK — Shad Moss, better known by his stage name Bow Wow, announced over the weekend he is retiring from rap at age 29.

In a series of tweets, Moss said he would be releasing one final album and explained that he couldn't see himself continuing his rap career past the age of 30.

Moss's fans shared their disappointment but also a fair share of support for the artist.

Moss said his last album will be produced by rapper Snoop Dogg, who first discovered Moss when he was 6 years old.

In an Instagram post, Moss explained that Snoop Dogg is like an "uncle" to him, and that it would be "right" for him to be involved in the process of creating the album, "NYLTH".

Moss is also an actor and most recently had roles in "CSI: Cyber", the "Entourage" movie and "Scary Movie 5".
