Man wanted for hitting woman with wooden stick on L train subway staircase: NYPD

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn — Authorities are looking for a man who hit a woman on her head with a stick on a subway staircase.

The woman was on the stairs to the L train platform at the Livonia Avenue station in Brooklyn around 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Police say a man came up behind the 37-year-old woman and struck her in the back of her head before dropping the wooden stick and fleeing.

The woman was bruised. She was taken to the hospital, where she was treated and released.

The unidentified man was dressed in dark clothing and carrying a white plastic bag and wooden stick at the time of the incident.
