FLATBUSH, Brooklyn — A Brooklyn man was fatally shot in front of an elementary school Wednesday night allegedly by a bully who stole from the victim’s son, police said.

Gerald Cummings, 38, was arguing with four males about 10:20 p.m. outside P.S. 6, Norma Adams Clemons Academy, when one of them pulled a gun, a police source said.

Cummings was fatally shot in the head and back. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The argument started allegedly over a July 30 robbery involving Cumming’s 17-year-old son, sources said. Cumming’s son was playing basketball in a schoolyard when a group stole his Oakland Raiders baseball hat.

When Cummings saw one of them wearing his son’s hat a few days later, he confronted him and took the hat off his head, police sources said. The culprit demanded the hat back and pulled a gun out of his backpack then shot Cummings twice.

The four males ran and there have been no arrests, police said.
