MASPETH, Queens — A man known as a career criminal to police has been arrested and charged after a woman caught him on her nanny cam allegedly burglarizing her home in Maspeth, Queens Monday afternoon.

Felix Perez, 37, of Brooklyn, is charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

Police responded to a residence at 66th Street and Hull Avenue around 1:30 p.m. after a woman called to report the burglary when she saw the man via her remote surveillance device, the equivalent to a nanny cam.

When police arrived, a struggle ensued and Perez was shot in the groin. He fled the scene but was detained moments later and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Perez, who authorities say has an extensive record of prior burglaries, was charged Tuesday. Police say he might be behind a series of burglaries in the neighborhood over the last week.
