Alleged drunken driver in custody after slamming into woman in the Bronx

CO-OP CITY, Bronx – A woman is in critical condition after an alleged drunken driver hit her late Sunday, police said.

It happened on Baychester Avenue in the Co-Op City section of the Bronx around 11 p.m.

The 31-year-old victim was transported to a Jacobi Medical Center.

The driver was detained at the scene on suspicion of driving drunk, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
