CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn – Two friends – and fathers of three children – out enjoying a night out were struck and killed by a getaway driver early Monday, police said.

The victims were struck at the intersection of Fulton and Chestnut streets just after midnight, the NYPD said.

When police arrived at the scene, they found  41-year-old Delman Maldonado and 56-year-old Israel Turcios unconscious and unresponsive with body injuries. Both are from Brooklyn.

Maldonado was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS while Turcios was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he died, according to police.

A preliminary investigation found an Acura TL sedan was traveling eastbound on Fulton Street at a high rate of speed when it hit the two men and two parked cars at the location, police said. PIX11 video and photo shows one of the parked vehicles landing in front of Faro Del Pacifico Pupuseria restaurant.

The unknown driver fled on foot, police said. There are no arrests at this time.

Javier Rodriguez described one of the victims as a family man.

"He's going to be missed," Rodriguez said. "He was a really good person."

The investigation into the double fatal crash is ongoing.
