EAST FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — A man is in custody after hitting and killing a motorcyclist on Long Island Saturday night.

Edward Okon, 49, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he struck and killed motorcyclist Tomasz Myszke, 39.

Myszke was heading southbound on Wellwood Avenue in East Farmingdale around 11:15 p.m. when Okon, driving a pick-up truck, made a left turn onto Conklin Street, crashing into the motorcyclist, according to police.

Myszke was pronounced dead at the scene.

Okon was not injured and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in Central Islip.

Both the truck and the motorcycle will undergo safety checks.
