Bus full of Brooklyn boys flips over on Pennsylvania highway

COOLBAUGH, Pennsylvania — Fourteen teenage boys from Brooklyn were in a bus that flipped over early Friday morning, officials said.

Four of the boys were sent to the hospital, two with serious injuries, according to Coolbaugh Township Fire Chief Kevin Ambrosio.

Fire department members had to raise the bus the help one teen whose arm was pinned under the bus. The boy was airlifted to the hospital.

The boys were on the way back to camp from a trip to the Poconos when the bus flipped over around 2:20 a.m. on Route 423, Ambrosio said. There were two other buses of campers headed back to Woodbourne, NY that were not involved in the crash.

It is not yet clear what caused the bus to flip, but police are investigating.
