All clear given after ‘Suspicious package’ snarls traffic; Second Avenue to reopen shortly

MIDTOWN, Manhattan -- The all clear was given after a "suspicious package" was found near the Israeli Mission in midtown Thursday, prompting the closure of Second Avenue and snarling traffic.

Police sources tell PIX11 a UPS driver dropped off a package at the loading dock of 800 Second Ave. and drove away.

The bomb unit was called to the scene to investigate, but nothing was found.
