Hundreds of New Yorkers are owed millions in unpaid wages, and now the city wants to know if you’re one of them.

Wilson Lopez was. On Thursday afternoon, he received a check for $50,000 in wages he’d earned a decade ago, but he was underpaid.

New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer has pursued underpaying city contractors and won $8 million in settlements.

Still, some $3.7 million of that remains unclaimed.

Stringer’s office is encouraging anyone who’s done construction work on sites with contractors or subcontractors working under city government contracts to contact the comptroller, by visiting this site or calling 212-669-4443.
