Perry Coniglio, 43, was arrested Tuesday in his motel room, which adjoined the victim’s.

The motel — the U.S. Academy Hotel in Highlands in the Hudson Valley — is located next door to the police station, according to CBS News.

Coniglio allegedly used brute force and intimidation to get the veteran to cooperate with him, police said.

Investigators say the victim received three checks every month, but they didn’t release the monetary amounts.

The victim has been taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Coniglio is being held in jail on $15,000 bail. The Legal Aid Society attorney representing him wasn’t available for comment.

The charges against him include grand larceny and unlawful imprisonment.
