Verizon resolves network problems that affected voice service
NEW YORK — Verizon’s network issues in New York and New Jersey were resolved after some customers reported trouble with making and receiving calls on their cellphones Monday.
Many customers were experiencing issues using Verizon service on their cellphones. Verizon spokesman Andrew Testa said the “network issue affecting voice service” began at 4:50 p.m.
According to downdetector.com, more than 600 Verizon customers, mostly in New York City, were reporting trouble making calls, suggesting a much wider problem.
Sending and receiving text messages, however, kept working, according to reports.
“Verizon Wireless engineers were able to identify and resolve the issue promptly and service was fully restored by 6:30 p.m.,” Testa said in a statement to PIX11 News.
