Staten Island car crash hospitalizes 6, including baby; driver charged with DWI

CONCORD, Staten Island — A Staten Island car crash sent six people to the hospital Monday, police said.

The 35-year-old driver, who crashed into a pole on Fingerboard Road at about 4:30 p.m., has been taken into custody and charged with DWI, police said.

All of the victims, including a 33-year-old woman, an 11-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl and an 11-month-old girl – were taken to Staten Island North Hospital, police said.

They’re listed as being in critical, but stable condition.

Correction: A previous version of this article erroneously reported that one of the girls was three months old; she is three years old.
