NEW YORK — National Ice Cream Day is upon us and there’s several reasons to celebrate.

All around town – freebies and deals will be a plenty.

Starting at participating Dairy Queen and Carvel locations, if you buy one ice cream cone or cup this Sunday, you get a second for free.

This year, even your dog could get in on the fun. PetSmart will be handing out free “doggie ice cream sundaes” at all of its PetSmart Petshotel locations. The treat is made with dog-safe vanilla soft serve with dog biscuits sprinkled on top.

If you’re looking for something a little bit more fancy — you should head over to the famed-Dominque Ansel Kitchen in West Village where tacos will be taking over the menu.

For this weekend only, the Ansel kitchen will be rolling out its latest concoction: the sweet corn ice cream taco.  It's collaborating with Empellon's Alex Stupak and the sweet treat is already causing long lines at the shop.

Keeping with the theme of ice cream mash-ups, this week Baskin Robbins re-launches its popular Polar Pizzas.

From Cookies 'n Cream, Almond Fudge and Heath and Chocolate Chip Dough — the whole gang is here.
