CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn — Guitarist Joe Perry, of Aerosmith fame, is “doing well” after collapsing on stage during a performance in Coney Island with his lesser known band Hollywood Vampires, a representative for the group said Tuesday.
Perry, 65, was performing Sunday night alongside Alice Cooper and actor Johnny Depp when he sat down on the drum set and stumbled off stage, where he reportedly lost consciousness.
He was then transported to Coney Island Hospital where he underwent unspecified tests, an official confirmed.
On Tuesday a representative for Hollywood Vampires said Perry was “doing well” and resting, the Associated Press reports.
The band canceled Monday night’s performance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, but plans to continue their tour Tuesday with a show in Ohio.
It is unclear when Perry will rejoin the group on tour, but an announcement on the band’s website confirming Tuesday’s performance said it will be “soon.”
