Tires found slashed in Crown Heights prompts investigation into possible hate crime

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn – Police are investigating a man's tire slashing spree on a Brooklyn street as a possible hate crime.

The NYPD said a man punctured the tires of twelve vehicles on Lefferts Boulevard between Troy and Albany Avenues  around 9 p.m. on July 1.

Authorities said the incident is being investigated as a hate crime because the owners of the affected vehicles are Jewish.

Police released surveillance footage showing the suspect apparently slash one of the cars.
