LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan — The public's help is needed to find the culprit behind a sexual attack against a 6-year-old girl on the Lower East Side, police said Monday.
A male allegedly exposed himself to then child then rubbed his penis on her face, police said. It happened about 8 p.m. Saturday in the first-floor stairwell of an apartment building on Henry Street.
It's unclear whether the attacker had access to the building, or if he snuck in.
The culprit was caught on surveillance video wandering in the apartment's hallway before turning a corner and moving out of the camera's view.
He is described as a dark-skinned male who was last seen wearing a red t-shirt and black baseball hat, police said.
