NEW YORK – The Mets have announced Jose Reyes will join the team Tuesday, completing his New York return.

Reyes, who was signed to a minor league deal on June 25, is expected to join the team tomorrow versus the Miami Marlins.

The Golden Glove-winning shortstop played with the Mets from 2004-2011, but left to earn a huge pay day with the Marlins. He was later traded to Toronto and then Colorado.

He was released from the Colorado Rockies after he served a 59-day suspension domestic violence suspension. Major League Baseball imposed the penalty after he got involved with an altercation with his wife last October that initially resulted in criminal charge, later dropped.
