The NYPD has set up an online survey to see what New Yorkers think about body cameras – soon to be worn by police officers.

The anonymous survey was conducted with NYU to get a better idea on the average resident's thoughts on the subject.

It comes as the NYPD is in the middle of getting 1,000 body cameras that will be worn by officers in 20 precincts across the city this fall.

Officials said they will take the findings of the survey into account when finalizing its policy on the cameras.
