NEW YORK — For two FDNY EMTs, Sunday’s NYC Pride March was more than just a celebration of the LGBT community.

Julianna Arroyo, an EMT from Station 20 in the Bronx, proposed to her now-fiancee Erika Marrero while the parade was underway.

“This parade is monumental for us because of the Orlando shooting,” Arroyo said. “It hit really close to home. We wanted to walk in the parade in honor of the 49 victims. At the same time, I wanted to give Erika something positive to remember from the parade.”

The FDNY shared a video of the engagement on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
