Teen suspect turns himself in after escaping NYPD custody in Brooklyn

EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn – A teenage suspect who escaped NYPD custody turned himself in Tuesday.

Rhamar Perkins, 16, walked in the 75th Precinct in East New York and is now expected to be charged with escape in addition to the initial accusation of theft of service, according to the NYPD.

He fled from police while inside the Transit District 32 Precinct on Carroll Street just after 9:40 p.m. Monday, police said.

Police said he was initially arrested for fare evasion.
