‘Varsity Blues’ actor Ron Lester dead at 45

DALLAS – Actor Ron Lester, who played Billy Bob in the movie “Varsity Blues,” has died at the age of 45.

His agent Dave Bradley announced the news on his Facebook page Friday night.

“He was not in any pain and passed away peacefully,” he wrote.

Lester has been hospitalized for months after suffering from problems with his liver, according to TMZ. Bradley said he was moved to hospice care last night in Dallas, where he died.

After his breakout role, he also appeared in movies “Not Another Teen Movie”  “Good Burger” as well TV stints in “Geeks and Freaks” and “Popular.”
