DENVER, Colo. — A loyal and apparently very drunk customer left a huge tip for a Colorado waiter, but returned the next day to ask for it back.

According to the Denver Post, the customer felt compelled to show his gratitude for the great food and drinks at Thailicious in Edgewater, Colo., -- so much so that he left an over $1,000 tip for the waiter.

The owner of the restaurant told the Denver Post the water was over-the-moon happy and wanted to put the generous tip into a tip jar to share with his co-workers.

But according to the outlet, the owner told the server to wait, just in case the patron came back. Which he did the next day, sheepishly saying he was so drunk he didn't realize he gave away all the money he had.

The owner gave the money back to customer, who then left $100 for his $60 check and $40 for the tip.
