Woman caught on video stealing cellphone from man, 69, in Staten Island: police

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police released surveillance footage Tuesday apparently showing a woman stealing a cellphone from a 69-year-old man's hands in Staten Island.

The incident occurred on April 3 around 10 a.m. at 155 Mill Road, bordering the Oakwood and New Dorp areas, the man told authorities.

Following a dispute between the two, the woman forcibly took the phone from the man’s hand and fled, police said.

Video released by police shows the two apparently arguing as the man reaches for the cellphone and the woman pushes him away.

The woman is described to be about 18 to 25 years old, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing about 120 to 140 pounds, police said. She is seen in the video wearing dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants.
