BALDWIN, N.Y. – A 20-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was shot in a parking lot on Long Island late Monday, police said.

Nassau County police responded to a 911 call of a wounded victim at 1289 Grand Ave. minutes before Tuesday midnight.

Once authorities arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his chest, according to police. He was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police said the suspect possibly fled in a black sedan in an unknown direction.

The investigation is ongoing.
