QUEENS -- Maria Giametta has a small apartment in Middle Village, Queens. She says her typical Con Ed bill is around $50 a month. But back in February the utility put in a new meter.

“The February bill comes and I open it up and I’m like $942! And I’m like what?!”

Maria called Con Ed, of course. For months the utility promised TO investigate. But it didn’t really do much except send her more whopping bills.

“They do another meter reading here. $2,000 bill I get! I’m getting so sick!”

So Maria contacted us. I contacted Con Ed. To the utility’s credit, it focused on Maria’s problem and cleared this up in a few days. Maria is happy and so am I.
