Dramatic video shows suspect attempting to abduct child in the Bronx

THE BRONX -- Police have released video of a suspect who attempted to abduct a child in the Bronx Tuesday night.

Police say the man approached a 6-year-old child around 9:27 p.m. in the area of West 162 Street and Jerome Avenue and picked him up. The man then tried to shove the child into a black vehicle but was thwarted by a member of the child's family.

He is described as a white man, approximately 30 years old, approximately 190 pounds, wearing black dress shoes, a dark sweater, and a button down shirt underneath.
