Elevator repairman’s arm amputated in lower Manhattan: NYPD

LOWER MANHATTAN — An elevator repairman lost his arm in lower Manhattan Thursday, police said.

The freak accident happened around 10:30 a.m. at 50 Broadway, at an office complex downtown.

Officials say the man was repairing an elevator in the building when his right arm was severed at the elbow.

The man was taken to a Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
