New Yorkers head outside to bask in warm weather

NEW YORK — It didn't matter where you looked today, summer clothing was out in full force Wednesday.

With temperatures reaching 90 degrees in some areas, offices moved meetings outside, lunch breaks extended by an hour and the sunbathers came out.

"Sun, hot, I love it," said one woman getting taking in the sun.

Crowds began to gather by the lawn at Bryant Park for when park workers took the ropes down to open the park.

The Mr. Softee trucks had long lines.

Down in Union Square the farmers market was packet with daytime shoppers.

Some of those shoppers were first graders who were out learning about produce and how it grows.

One student told PIX11 he wasn't a fan of the heat. "I need a drink," he said.
