CHELSEA, Manhattan -- Police are looking for the gunman in what police are calling a "drive-by shooting" that injured a 27-year-old man who was sitting in his car in Chelsea Sunday morning.

It happened around 5:40 a.m. outside Cafeteria on 7th Avenue.

The man told police he was sitting inside his Bentley parked on the street when he felt pain in his back and shoulder. He then realized he had been shot.

The man, who has not been identified, was taken to Bellevue Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the gunfire came from someone in another vehicle.

A search is underway for the gunman, who fled the area in what police say might have been a gray vehicle.
